All groups of doctors, with the exception of laboratory doctors, nuclear medicine specialists, pathologists and radiologists, can offer video consultations.

The video consultation software must be certified by the National Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians (KBV). You must provide evidence of the use of such a KBV-certified video consultation to your responsible KV in order to be able to bill for it.

Doctors can use the video consultation flexibly in all cases in which they deem it necessary. therapeutically useful hold.

• You can bill the video consultation for both statutory health insurance patients and private patients. 
• There is no restriction to specific indications.
• Since April 2022, doctors have been able to treat and bill 30% of treatment cases per quarter, i.e. almost every third patient, exclusively via video without the patient having to come to the practice.
• For patients who have visited the practice in person at least once per quarter, the video consultation can be billed without limitation.

Remote monitoring of vital signs is generally  for all patients, but particularly suitable for chronically ill people.
